Learning and Behaviour
Children’s learning styles, strengths and challenges come in all shapes and sizes, so I don’t offer a one-size fits-all solution.
Some children may benefit from a robust cognitive and academic assessment to determine where academic development is getting stuck. Some children need their challenging behaviour to be analysed and interpreted so that the underlying cognitive or emotional need can be addressed.
I make sure we stay on the same page by keeping parents fully informed of assessment results and working with you to ensure the plan works for your family.
Assessment, feedback, planning and review usually takes between 4 and 10 hours depending on need and is charged at $180 incl. gst per hour.
Social and Emotional
Our children are navigating a world that is more complex and challenging than it used to be.
Anxiety and depression are widespread among children as young as pre-schoolers and our adolescents are dealing with mental health issues on an epidemic scale.
I offer a range of approaches for helping children and teenagers build their resilience and learn to understand and manage their emotions.
Assessment, planning, intervention/therapy and review usually takes between 4 and 8 sessions and is charged at $180 incl. gst per hour.
Neurodiversity Support
There is an increasing awareness of neurodiversity in schools and most people now understand that some brains work very differently from others.
I enjoy supporting parents and teachers by interpreting behaviour challenges and offering straight forward, user-friendly strategies to help neurodiverse children thrive.
This service is generally home-based and parents can opt for as many sessions as they feel they need. Sometimes a single home visit can give you the strategies you need to address a particular challenge. Other families may opt for a more thorough assessment and support plan. Visits are charged at $180 incl. gst per hour.
